Prerequisites
The course is a continuation for those who
have completed the basic course in drawing reading or otherwise obtained
equivalent knowledge.
Audience
The course is aimed at production technicians with preparation responsibilities, buyers (and perhaps sellers) who need to base business on how complex the drawing is, machine operators with a lot of their own responsibility for adjustments and control, as well as measurement technicians who should help production technicians and machine operators get things right. Prospective inspectors and staff who need knowledge of how measurement technology and drawing reading are connected can also enjoy the course.
Course Objectives
After the course, the participant should be able to link requirements on drawings to important measurement principles and measurement methods for checking and verifying the product. The participant must be able to mention how certain commonly used measuring devices fulfill certain basic measuring principles and give examples of standards on which these connections rest. The participant must also be able to give examples of how different measuring devices that fulfill the same measuring principle can be differently well-suited depending on the size or extent of the tolerance.
Content
The course serves as an introduction to the principles on which requirements are based and how the requirements of drawings must in turn be linked to measuring methods and measuring devices. The participant is given the opportunity to read out requirements taken from drawings, connect these to some commonly used measuring devices (for example calipers and caliper micrometers) and some measurement methods these can be used for. Furthermore, the participant is given the opportunity to discuss how an operator determines by means of measurement whether a simple practice part is manufactured according to the shape and dimension requirements of the drawing. Within the scope of the course, a presentation is also given of the concepts of GPS (Geometric Product Specification), Shape and position tolerances and measurement uncertainty.
