Description

In this self-paced course, the learner will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of machining in ALPHACAM.

Using resource materials supplied in the course, the learner will look at:

- Methods involved in part preparation for machining
- Methods involved in creating tooling
- Methods involved in applying pockets
- Methods involved in creating profile toolpaths

There are 4 modules within this course, the learner must successfully complete each module to progress to the next. On successful completion of all four modules, the learner will be awarded a certificate of achievement.

 - 2.2 Standard 2D Machining for Mill / Router / Stone: Tooling Creation
 - 2.3 Standard 2D Machining for Mill / Router / Stone: Pocketing

On completion, the learner should know:

 - How to prepare a part and apply operations for machining
 - How to create a dedicated representation of tooling

This short course looks at the methods you must understand to allow a part to be ready for manufacture. You will learn how to set the correct side of a geometry to apply a tool to, and how to relocate your drawing for correct manufacture of the part.

Tooling Creation looks at the methods used to create a correct and accurate representation of your actual machine tooling within ALPHACAM.

The Rough / Finish cycle is the main cycle for creating profile toolpaths around your parts. This course is applicable to Mill and Router using the Rough/Finish cycle and the Cut Shape cycle in Stone.
