In this course the basics of meshing for gas metal arc welding (GMAW) simulation are presented.
The course covers the two main approaches:
hex-meshing and midsurface meshing. The course starts with CAD import, cleanup and defeature, and then covers the main steps necessary for the creation of mesh refinement
regions, which will keep the model size as small as possible while also mantaining accuracy in the welding simulation.
Finally, the meshes are imported in Simufact Welding.
