When data for a measurement system analysis is not available in the required sequence, but as continuously recorded data, a data set can be converted into the required format using the type conversion in solara.MP.

Start the type conversion
In the event that the data for a Measurement System Analysis are not available in the required sequence, but as continuously collected data, the type conversion in solara.MP can be used to convert a data set into the desired format.
There are two ways to perform the type conversion:
The first and recommended way is via the menu item.
To do this, call up the menu item File | Type Conversion with the original data set open.:

Another option for type conversion is directly via the mask. However, this is not recommended, as the options are only available to a limited extent with this variant.

The mere conversion in the characteristics mask from type 1 to the desired type converts only the current characteristic with default settings.
With File | Type Conversion the conversion dialogue is called up:

Conversion
In the "Conversion" part, it is possible to specify which characteristics of the dataset can be converted.
With "Standard setting", only the procedure can be selected for the target type.
With "Current setting", the various parameters of the target type can also be changed.

Target type
In the target type, the target method and the parameters can be selected (depending on the settings in the conversion). In the example here a Type 2:

The numbers of operator, trial, parts can only be changed, when the option in "conversion" is used to "Current setting". the Option "Standard setting" will define in the target type the default from the strategy.
Conversion method
These three conversion methods are offered. With other options, the data processes within the recording data alone are problematic to consider.
In order to be able to better compare the converted data set, the selected data set contains the measured values from 1 to 60.
As an example, for a "Type 2" 60 values were recorded by 3 operators in 2 runs on 10 components. After the first opening in the solara.MP programme, the data set is available as type 1, so we need a type conversion.
No conversion
If "no conversion" is activated, the measured values are assigned to the operators one after the other and written into the new procedure:

Conversion 1
In conversion method 1, the contiguous blocks of measurements are assigned to an operator:

Conversion 2
In conversion method 2, the blocks of the measurements are assigned to the users in sequence:

Type conversion in solara.MP WEB
Type conversion in solara.MP WEB is only done via the characteristics mask. A separate menu item is not provided for this purpose. Open the characteristic mask

When changing the procedure under "Evaluation type", the following window opens.

Now the appropriate conversion method can be selected.
the difference in this dialog is, that here now all characteristics can be chosen.
If the standard setting is selected, no changes can be made to the respective parameters.
To change the individual parameters such as the number of operators, measurements, parts and reference measurements, the option "current setting" must be selected.
Since in solara.MP WEB, in contrast to the solara.MP application, the procedure can only be selected via the characteristics mask, the decision on the evaluation type is made in advance and cannot be changed afterwards.
Once the desired settings have been made, the result can be viewed via the Values mask.
| Type conversion This document describes how type conversion is handled for the desktop version of solara.MP and the slightly different handling for the browser-based version. Test dataset used in the documentation: type-conversion.zip |
