1 Select - Function

In the group "Select functions"in the tab Part/Characteristic you get the possibility to evaluate a certain range of data separately.
Selecting this function opens a drop-down menu with the following options for selecting a specific data range.
Most of the options are only visible when filterable graphics, such as the value history, are actively open.

If a graphic selection is carried out in the process analysis, it must be noted that any incomplete samples are completely removed from the evaluation if a value of a sample is no longer present in the evaluation. |

Before using the select function as a permanent evaluation option, the use of databases and the possibilities when "reading from the database", with quick filters, automatic selections and the like should be considered. By consistently using the possibilities when working with measured values from the database, the select function becomes less and less important. |
2 Filter by additional data
The option "Filter by additional data" offers the possibility to limit the range of data to be evaluated / displayed to certain contents of additional data fields after loading the data sets. In the standard version, the machine number (K0010) and cavity number (K0007) are displayed.

After clicking on an additional data field listed here, the drop-down menu opens with the characteristics of the additional data field found in this data set. If the top option is deactivated, all values are deactivated directly, the desired content can then be activated.

Graphics and evaluations update immediately.

With the button "Remove filter" all filters can be removed at the same time.
2.1 Integrating further additional data fields
If further additional data is to be included in the option, this can be done in the "Graphic settings" when the dialogue "Filter by additional data" is open.

3 Filter measurements
The option "Filter measurements" is a special programming which should only be used in projects. All settings here are volatile. Closing the dialogue immediately removes all filters and resets the evaluation to the default.
A brief explanation of the option: 3 columns are available. The consecutive feature number, the measured value range, activate filter.

First a consecutive feature number is selected, here it opens the feature list:

The measured value range is defined in the filter condition

If the filter is now activated, it is executed directly in the corresponding characteristic

Repeatedly: Closing the dialogue resets the filter ad hoc, the filter conditions entered are volatile and thus removed.

4 Select function
With the select function, values can now be selected / de-selected graphically in the value progression. This is only available if the user group has the right "Selection in graphics".

Selections are possible, for example, in the graphics Value progression or Position tolerance. The various options are explained here first.
In whatever way the measured values have been limited (except for the option for deleting individual values), after defining the range, the range of values that is to be de-selected, i.e. removed from the evaluation, must be marked with the right mouse button.
Using the example of the vertical select function:

The selection lines are moved to the desired area:

Then the area whose values are to be de-selected is marked with the right mouse button. All affected values are then marked accordingly

After that, the selection can be executed or run and saved.
4.1.1 Call up select function horizontal / vertical
By selecting this option, two horizontal and/or vertical bars appear in the graphic. You can move these with the mouse. The yellowish fields in the graphic show the exact bar position. Select these fields to carry out a fine adjustment by input or via the arrow keys.

4.1.2 Call up select input (delete individual values)
After this function has been called up, an index finger appears in the graphic. You can now select specific values with a mouse click.

4.1.3 Execute select function (delete area)
After calling this function, a freehand line can be drawn around any number of values (but the shape must be closed at the end).

Right-clicking inside the bordered area deselects the values inside; right-clicking outside the bordered area deselects the values outside.

4.1.4 Execute select function
With this option, the previously defined select function is executed. Using the corresponding drop-down menu, you can also select for which characteristics the select function is to be executed.

If this is carried out for more than the current feature, the measured values of the other features are identified on the basis of the current measured value number:

The option "Execute select function" is volatile. After the next opening of the data set, all values are again in the evaluation. |
4.1.5 Save selection
The option "Save selection" works in the same way as "Execute selection". The difference is: The de-selected measured values are provided with an attribute and saved in this way. The performed selection is therefore saved. This can be undone with "Undo Selection Function".
The measured values are not deleted, but receive the attribute "190", so that this process can be reversed with the option Select function. For this, however, the option Save with attribute 190 (reversible)must be set under File | Configurations | Further settings | Save options.
4.1.6 Undo select function
This function undoes the executed selection. You can also use the corresponding drop-down menu to select the characteristics for which the selection is to be undone.

5 Call up select input
With this option you can specify criteria according to which you want to select. The criteria "Date/Time" and various additional data fields are available for selection.
The dialogue that opens and its handling depends on the option "Log additional data when loading", which can be activated under File - Configuration - General settings.

Basically, the additional data field to be filtered must be ticked, the selection is made with the button to the right of the field.

Below this, you can specify whether this should only be filtered for the current characteristic or for the entire part, for example.
For the case of list displays, multiple entries can be selected by highlighting a range with <SHIFT> or selecting multiple entries with <STRG>.
In the following explanations, the dialogue with the activated option "Log additional data" is always explained first.
5.1 Application of date and time
In the date/time filter, only the start and end date can be entered.

The preset times are given by the first measured value and the last measured value.
![]() |
The application of the date/time filter here should, if possible, no longer be used. The options when reading from the database offer far more possibilities here, and it is not necessary to load all the data first before filtering it in the graph afterwards. |
5.2 Application of catalogue-based additional data fields
For catalogue-based additional data fields, the catalogue entries found in the record are available:

Without activated additional data logging, the entire catalogue is displayed:

5.3 Application of alphanumeric additional data fields
For alphanumeric additional data fields, the characteristics found in the data set are available:

Without activated additional data logging, input fields are offered in which the free input must take place.
