After analysing the text database to compile a list of abbreviations, it became apparent that adjustments were necessary in many languages. This is due to a certain 'operational blindness' that occurs after many years of use, which will be addressed in the upcoming version V16.
Abbreviations of K fields and Results, Explanation (English only)
| Abbr. | Name | Explanation |
USL |
Upper Specification Limit | A specification from the characteristic mask |
LSL |
Lower Specification Limit | A specification from the characteristic mask |
T |
Tolerance | USL minus LSL, only calculated when both specifications are present in the mask |
Tm |
Middle of Tolerance | |
xmin |
Minimum value | the smallest value of the valid measured values |
xmax |
Maximum value | the highest value of the valid measured values |
R |
Range | xmax minus xmin |
N>USL |
Number of values >USL | the counted number of valid measured values above the USL |
N<LSL |
Number of values <LSL | the counted number of valid measured values below the LSL |
N<T> |
Number of values within tolerance | the counted number of valid measured values inside the specification limits |
Ntot |
Total values | the total number of "entries" in the value mask for the characteristic. "Entries", because also blank cells would be counted (no value with attribute) |
Neff |
Total evaluated | the effective Number of values which are used for the statistic (the valid measured values) |
6s or Xup3-Xlo3 |
3s quantile distance |
in case of a normal distribution: 6 times the standard deviation s or in case of a not-normal distribution: the upper Quantile X99,985% minus the lower Quantile X0,135% |
| Median | Median of all valid measured values | |
x̄ |
Average | Average of all valid measured values |
s |
standard deviation | standard deviation of all valid measured values |
X99,985% |
99,865% Quantile | In the case of a normal distribution, this would be X + 3s. The upper quantile, which indicates the range of the distribution in which 99.865% of the distribution is located. |
X0,135% |
0,135% Quantile | In the case of a normal distribution, this would be X - 3s. The lower quantile, which indicates the range of the distribution in which 0.135% of the distribution is located. |
p>USL |
Expected proportion > USL | the statistical proportion above the USL, based on the distribution model determined |
p<LSL |
Expected proportion <LSL | the statistical proportion below the LSL, based on the distribution model determined |
p<T> |
Expected proportion within tolerance | the statistical proportion inside the tolerance, based on the distribution model determined |
r100% |
Distribution regression coefficient | the Distribution regression coefficient of all valid measured values to express the accuracy of the distribution |
r25% |
Distribution regression coefficient | the Distribution regression coefficient of all the 25% of valid measured values to the critical limit, to express the accuracy of the distribution |
