in QUINDOS is there a direct way to make a datum shift or it has to be a done by coding and math?
When I say datum shift is the MMC applied to a datum (view image)
1) I'm not aware of any canned method that satisfies every circumstance (not just Quindos, but in any CMM software). However, IF, you have only one characteristic, that has the datum shift, you could use formulas to figure out how much shift bonus you get, added to positional tolerance, then use a SETFLD, or PUTVALS command to alter your 1mm tolerance in the evaluation. In fact, back in the old days of CMMs, you had to do this even for regular old MMC.
2) Now being Quindos, anything is possible, even simultaneous evaluations, with different feature control frames, with different datum shift combinations. That's really easy to say, and I am chewing over a way to accomplish this coherently. Give me 36 months to white-board my idea, and another week to write the code...
