Hi Paul, can you post the complete plot please? I cannot judge the magnitude of the sine wave without some more information.

Thanks. The magnitude of the the error is ~50microns, which is too much for an X1 head.
What scanning speed are you using?
What is an S2-3 part?
Please try another scanning type (known/unknown contour) to reproduce the problem & post the plots.

Hi Paul. What was the cutting tool used to make the profiles? The left side looks like a hob, but the right side looks more like a shave cutter. I agree with Timothy Cutts that this does not look like a measuring tool issue.
This is actually a really common grinding issue. I assume this is material-on?
