While scanning a S2-3 part wQuindos HP-S-X1H, the trace will show a harmonic sine wave as though the part were shaped like this. The part does not have a wave finish-the same one will then not show that harmonic. Recal or slow can help. Any other ideas? Tx

Thanks. The magnitude of the the error is ~50microns, which is too much for an X1 head.

What scanning speed are you using?

What is an S2-3 part?

Please try another scanning type (known/unknown contour) to reproduce the problem & post the plots.

Hi Paul. What was the cutting tool used to make the profiles? The left side looks like a hob, but the right side looks more like a shave cutter. I agree with Timothy Cutts  that this does not look like a measuring tool issue. 

This is actually a really common grinding issue.  I assume this is material-on?
